About Art in the Barn
Juried fine art festival with so much history . . .
Art in the Barn began in 1974 when a group of ten women and local artists met to develop a quality art event for the Barrington community.
What began as an art show with 30 artists and 1,500 attendees has grown to be one of the most unique and highest quality art festivals in the Chicagoland area with over 180 juried artists exhibiting their work. With 45 years of momentum, this beautiful event draws returning art lovers and new visitors from the surrounding area where they enjoy not only the exhibition and sale of fine art, but also music and entertainment, food from a variety of vendors, and children's art. Art in the Barn is one of the major fund-raisers sponsored by the Auxiliary of Good Shepherd Hospital, which has donated millions to the hospital.

The Auxiliary of Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital
The members of the Volunteer Auxiliary of Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital assist in promoting the health and welfare of the community.
The Volunteer Auxiliary’s responsibilities include serving as liaison between the hospital and community, fundraising, and taking part in activities that strengthen and improve our healthcare delivery system.
Through fundraising events like Art in the Barn, the Volunteer Auxiliary provides scholarships for students pursuing careers in healthcare and provides financial support for hospital expansion projects. The Volunteer Auxiliary also provides the craft items used by the LUV Ewes whose volunteers create various patient comfort items such as pillows, food tray favors, and baby items, etc. The Volunteer Auxiliary also sponsors the Catchpenny Resale Shoppe in downtown Barrington, 118 E. Main St., with all proceeds directly benefitting the hospital.
